Privacy

Here is how Decibelz uses cookies and the information you provide on the website.

Cookies and preferences

  • Language: a cookie remembers your choice of French or English for one year after you switch languages.
  • Sign-in and security: cookies maintain your session, manage authentication and protect forms against fraudulent requests.
  • Cookie notice: after you select “Got it”, a cookie remembers this choice for one year so the notice is not shown again.
  • Decibelz reactions use an anonymous browser identifier kept for one year and a cryptographic IP address fingerprint to limit each link to one reaction per browser and connection. Raw IP and MAC addresses are not stored in reactions. Reactions and their fingerprints are retained to maintain counts and prevent duplicates.

Internal measurement counts public page views by domain and estimates human and automated visits. It stores no IP addresses, personal identifiers or URL query parameters and sets no measurement cookies. Data is deleted after 90 days. DNT and GPC signals are respected. An optional cookie excludes administration browsers. No advertising tracking is used.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Some features, including sign-in and language preferences, may then stop working.

External services

Website fonts are hosted on our server and do not require requests to Google Fonts. When enabled, the Cloudflare Turnstile anti-spam service receives requests from the contact form. External images and music or social platforms you open may also receive requests from your browser and apply their own privacy practices.

When enabled on the contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical information, including your IP address and browser and connection characteristics, to detect bots and protect the site. Cloudflare also uses these signals to improve bot detection. Its privacy policy describes this processing.
